Three Months

Today, Norah is 3 months old!

She continues to be a sweet, easy-going girl who sleeps solidly, eats well, and smiles a lot!

And, she's growing stronger and getting more active all the time. She still hates tummy time, but she has a strong neck so she's able to hold herself up off the floor pretty well. She also can sit well when she's propped up or in her Bumbo chair, and I think she likes this new perspective. She also grabs at objects, especially at all of her "friends" in her activity gym and she pulls them toward her -- specifically, she wants to put them in her mouth. In fact, one of her major changes in the past month is the increase in drool and her desire to stuff her whole fist in her mouth. The downside to the grabbing is that now she inadvertently grabs my hair and yanks on it, and I think I will soon have to watch what jewelry I wear.

Of course, the biggest thing in this month was my start back to work and her start at daycare, and even though the transition was hard for me, she adjusted effortlessly. And now that we've had a few weeks of this new schedule, I think it's going smoothly.

Last parental thought: Even though I delight in each new milestone, and I love seeing her personality continue to emerge, I already feel as though the time is going too fast. It gives my heart a little pang to know that she's no longer that small, inert bundle that we brought home from the hospital 3 months ago. I love seeing her grow and develop and discover new aspects to her world, but at the same time, it's tough because I know that each step forward for her means a step away from me.

And typing that business in the paragraph above (and then taking a minute to cry about it) makes me realize how much I've changed in these 3 months. Granted, I knew, in theory, that parenthood would change me, but I really had no idea how substantial that change would be.

Three months already!? So glad she is healthy and happy and a great little baby overall.

I'm sure you're emotions are totally normal for a new Mom. Don't worry, you still have lots of time. :)

Happy(3mo)Birthday Baby Norah!

She seems so grown up. I will see her on Thanksgiving most likely. She looks likes such a sweet little girl.

It is amazing how a baby changes everything. They are the universe and everyone who loves them acts accordingly.

Happy 3 months Miss Norah!

She's adorable, as usual.

And yes, time goes so fast. I'm still trying to figure out how I have an 8 year old and a 4 year old.

my little girl is three months on the 26th! i feel like i tell my husband every week "look how BIG she is" and it really does continue to amaze me :) i understand what you're saying, as much as i'm looking forward to the next few "firsts" it'll just mean she's getting that much bigger. p.s. we have the same playmat and my girls been chomping her fist like crazy the last week or so :)

they really do grow up so fast - and it seems like we stand still and just watch. Amazing and frightening at the same time.

Hard to believe she is 3 months already, but I actually had the same thoughts this evening looking at my 4 year old son. I wondered aloud...where did my baby boy go! Savor every moment even the not so great ones, they pass so quickly.

We knew we'd win you over to the sappy, sentimental side. :)

I know what you mean about it all going too fast. I feel the same way about Miss Rylee.

And congrats to Norah on her milestone!

She looks so much like Jerry!

So happy for you guys that she's been so well!

Your sentiments about how fast she has grown and how sad it makes you is EXACTLY why all my friends who had babies last year and trying again now. It seems like all at once they were like, "I want another one".

I guess that feeling is the universe's way of making sure we keep procreating after the pains of labor :)

Seriously, while I haven't experienced it firsthand, I have heard the same thing from every mother I know. Those feelings seem totally normal.

She is such a doll, Jess. She gets more beautiful (and happy) with every new picture you post!
