Requests for Scooter Pic Fulfilled

Some of you have been asking about Scooter and have requested pics of Scooter, as you feel that he has been neglected here on the blog since Norah's arrival. Don't worry, you're not alone. Scooter also feels he has been unjustifiably neglected.

Scooter is nothing but curious about Norah herself, and he's hugely tolerant of her attempts to reach out and pet him, which mostly means she jabs at his general direction; however, he is extremely jealous of the attention Jerry and I pay her. Keep in mind that we play with Scooter just as much, if not more, as we did before Norah joined our family, but he just can't help himself: He was numero uno before she intruded on that. Thankfully, his jealousy just translates into neediness, not aggression.

We keep assuring him that with time, he's gonna love having her around -- especially once she's big enough to eat, and drop, solid food. My guess is that he will be her constant companion then. Plus, we're hoping that one day when she's older and she's big enough for us to convert her crib to a toddler bed, he'll move in there to sleep with her. For now, he remains with Jerry and I, and of the 3 of us, he's usually the last to rise in the morning: This look seems to say, "What the heck are you people doing up?"

I think Scooter is one smart doggie, taking advantage of his opportunities and all...

Glad to hear that Scooter is adjusting well to having Norah around. I definitely think they'll be BFFs when she starts leaving food for him!

Aww...that's so nice. I wish for the same things with our dog when we have kids.

I like how he's only opening one eye- like that's all he can really muster at this point. Two eyes would require far too much energy, which he obviously does not have.

Our pup is the last out of bed too and she's so cuddly in the morning- I love it! Thanks for sharing!

I think the look says, "I am keeping one eye open...a dog is always on high alert."

My Dad used to have a rottweiler (Reesa) that adored toddlers. In fact, if a parent tried to discipline a child in front Reesa, she would place herself between the parent and the child and growl at the parent.

He looks like one happy pup-pup there! And yes, it also looks like he had a "ruff" night! Hahaha!
I am hoping too, that when we have kidos ourselves, that our Lilly will find a new BFF! Have a great Tuesday! :)

Brooke is 13 months and I still feel bad for the dog. Some people just forget about the dog when they have a baby, but Wrigley is part of the family too. I feel bad that she feels so neglected. Occasionally she pushes Brooke down just out of spite - that makes me mad. But otherwise I do pity her ;)

Scooter is lucky to have such nice parents who care about his little furry feelings.

I found your blog the other day and you have a cute daughter. I have a 4 year old and a 1.5 year old. My dogs never really got upset when we brought the kids home from the hospital but they don't get as much lovin as they use to.

I really want to do a marathon but I have not yet signed up for one yet. Hopefully this spring or summer I will.

Keep Running!

Awwww! Scooter is too cute! I like dogs, but my schedule is too hectic, and my apartment too small, to have one. I have a cat, and I feel bad for her 'cause I barely have the energy to keep up with her sometimes.

When my nieces and nephews were babies, my aunt's dog was very protective of them. Didn't want anyone else to get near the crib. He'd bark at you if you got close, lol. Crazy dog. But, he wasn't living with the kids 24/7, this was only when she was babysitting.

Haha .. love that look! My dogs love having friends with babies visit, mainly because of the dropped food thing!

He looks pretty darn cozy in that comforter. Does he hang out in the bedroom while you guys are gone?

LOL, he looks quite comfy in there. I think he's definitely turning the Norah situation to his advantage LOL.

It looks like he's thinkin "What are you guys doin' in my room, taking pics when I'm still trying to sleep!" Cute!

We too hope that one day Annie will move to Miller's room and we will get our bed back. Scooter likes kids once they give him food and play with him. I bet he will love when she starts crawling because she's on his level :)

Funny, I saw that picture and thought the expression was more of a "Why are you waking me up before 10am on a Saturday?" face.

Glad to hear that Scooter is getting along well with Norah.
