While the first few nights with Norah were tough, each night since has been an improvement, and so far, last night was her best night ever.
She slept from 8:30-11:30, then we went through the whole diaper, feeding, rocking routine, and she slept again from midnight-3, and then we repeated the above, and she slept again from 3:30-6 and then from 6:30-8. It. was. awesome.
So, if she can do a schedule like this until she gets to the point of sleeping through the night, I can most certainly live with it. Cross your fingers for me that last night wasn't a fluke!
As for the daytime, we're enjoying another smooth day. Right now, she's snoozing on my lap while I simultaneously blog and get caught up on last night's episode of "Top Chef."
that does seem like a good pattern. when they are first born, the stomach is only about the size of a golf ball. it doesn't hold very much food, which is why they wake up every 2 hours. as she grows, the stomach can hold more food, and she will sleep longer. before you know it you will get to sleep for 4 hours straight!
ReplyDeleteYeah, yeah - what's her 5K time?
ReplyDeletelisten to Poppa John, he knows his baby stuff!!!
ReplyDeleteYou're a rock star with a rock star kid. :o)
ReplyDeleteIt'll get better each night. Then one day you'll wonder where the time went!
ReplyDeleteI agree with shannon!! sounds like it is going great!
ReplyDeleteAs long as she doesn't have colic or acid reflux-consider yourself lucky. When they cry and can't be consoled that is a heartbraker. So happy things are going good.
ReplyDeletemy kid was the freaking worse- she woke every two hours until she was like 3 months old- i seriously wanted to commit a murder
ReplyDeleteSounds like all is going well. Way to multitask.
ReplyDeleteOh good! I'm glad to hear she's been good for you so far. Hopefully it's a trend that continues.
ReplyDeleteYeeh for little Norah! And like Cross Crountry said, you are both rockstars! Glad it's going so well! :)
ReplyDeleteHere's hoping for many repeat performances!
ReplyDeleteWe've had a couple of rough nights over here -- I'm hoping Norah is sending good sleepy vibes to Liam!
ReplyDeleteI just got caught up on your blog, congrats! She's beautiful and good luck on getting that repeated schedule tonight. :)
ReplyDeleteSounds like you guys are doing great. Here's hoping for another repeat performance!
ReplyDeleteHoping the sleeping pattern continues to work for you!!1
ReplyDeletebest wishes for continued workable sleep schedules!
ReplyDeleteProoves you are a smart momma! I had to slap a co-worker around 20 years ago. They're two week old baby was already sleeping through the night. I told him to wake that damn baby up and feed it!!! LOL...
ReplyDeleteOh my God, that's a good night?!!?!? I'm in trouble when I have kids.
ReplyDeleteSeriously. it sounds like you're really getting the hang of this. An old pro, for sure.
WTG Norah (and Jess and Jerry) you guys are becoming pros. (also LOL @ Jamoosh)
ReplyDelete((crossing my fingers))
ReplyDeleteThat's pretty good for two weeks. At least it seems like a schedule is forming...yay!
ReplyDeleteYea for getting into a sleeping routine!
ReplyDeleteShe might have a natural schedule ... which would be awesome for you. Might be a sign that you can start "sleep training" early, and you will have a through-the-night sleeper before you know it :)
ReplyDeleteSounds like things are going well. Hope she continues to sleep well for you!
