Last night, around supper time, I started getting a not-so-great feeling in my tummy, but I thought I was just really hungry for dinner. Sat down to dinner and ate only half my meal before realizing: Nope, not hunger. Nausea. Minutes later, I was yakking up dinner.
And, the yakking pretty much continued all night, and was later joined by the mud butt around 1 am.
At first, Jerry reported that he felt fine, but a few hours after my initial barfisode, he too found himself hunched over the porcelein. Thank god for two bathrooms.
This morning, neither of us was feeling much better so we both called in sick to work and then called daycare and asked if we could bring Norah in for the full day because neither of us felt well enough to take care of her.
After Jerry took Norah to DC, I was able to sleep for a full 3 hours without puking or pooping myself, and I feel much better now. Still not in great shape, but I am currently keeping down water and Ramen, so that's good. This feels exactly like the flu I had back in October: I hadn't been sick like this in years and then I get it twice within 4 months! Yuck.
Oh man, barfing is the worst! So sorry you're sick, too! There is some weird crap going on, because like you, up until this year I hadn't been sick in forever! Now I have a cold again, what gives!
ReplyDeleteFeel better and Jerry, too!
Horrible! And the fact that you and Jer-bear are both sick is even worse! This flu business is awful. I feel like I have been sick more frequently this school year than in pasts... grr. But, I am building an immunity to these kids, right?!
ReplyDeleteHope you feel better soon!
ReplyDeleteYuck, that is just the worst feeling. Hope you and Jerry feel better soon and that Norah doesn't catch it...
ReplyDeleteYuck! I hope that you and your hubby feel better soon, and that your little one doesn't get it too.
ReplyDeleteYikes - feel better!
ReplyDeleteYuck. It has been going around up here in CT quite a bit, that sucks!
ReplyDeleteThe first winter Sophie was in daycare, we had the stomach bug at our house three times within four months - it's all those new daycare germs! Hope you feel better soon.
ReplyDeleteOR...Norah's going to be a sister!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a bummer!! Hopefully it's just a 24 hr. bug and you'll both be back to feeling good later today. Do you have gloves and maybe a mask you can wear around Norah to keep her from getting exposed??
ReplyDeleteNo good! We haven't puked around here in years (besides the spit-up) but we've all three been snot-nosed and coughing for about a week now. Luckily, Dan got it first and was feeling better when I got it, because I've been way worse than him or Kate. My poor nose is rubbed raw! Hope you both feel better soon!
ReplyDeletethat sux. Hope y'all feel better!
ReplyDeleteWow! Both ends! That sucks, and both you and your husband! I have not had that happen to me in years. Sorry that happened to you... hopefully it was just light food poisioning or something, and not a 2-3 day bout of flu. Get to feeling better. Hopefully the baby won't catch any of it.
ReplyDeleteIck, not another flu!
ReplyDeleteI hope you're both feeling all better soon.
Sorry you guys are sick! I hope it's a quick bug and that Norah stays healthy.
ReplyDeletethanks for the details. Couldn't just say "I got sick" and leave it at that, could you?
ReplyDeleteThat being said, hope you feel better soon?
Oh man Jess I hope you're feeling better soon. Glad DC could take Norah so you both could rest up a bit.
ReplyDeleteEwwwww.
ReplyDeleteHope you two get to feelin' better and that Norah doesn't catch it!
I hate puking! I hope you geel better soon!!
ReplyDeleteEwwwwwww from the great North! Get well.
ReplyDeleteOh no! I'm so sorry you're sick! Throwing up really is the worst! I wish you a speedy recovery!
ReplyDeleteFeel better!
ReplyDeleteYikes - that sounds horrible!! Hope you are feeling 100% soon!
ReplyDeletePoor thing! Hope you both feel better soon and Miss Norah escapes without it!
ReplyDeletethat blows :( Good thing about the flu bug is that is passes quick. But you feel like you got hit by a train for about a week after. Take it easy and get better soon!
ReplyDeleteThat's just terrible! I'm in the health field, and I can't stand vomit. Give me blood sprayed all over the place, but vomit is another story. Sorry you're not feeling well, but hopefully this will get over quick for both you and Jerry.
ReplyDeleteOh my. You guys sound miserable. I hope Norah doesn't get it too. Get well soon.
ReplyDeleteOh yuck! Feel better soon!
ReplyDeleteThat is the super nice thing about being a working mom and having daycare. When you are sick during the work week you have someplace to send the kiddo so you can get some much needed rest.
