10 Things

So, I was tagged, like many of you, to list "10 Things That Make Me Happy" but since nearly everyone and their brother has done this already, I figured I'd do "10 Things That Make Me Happy Today."

1. Starbucks. If I could bathe in lattes, I would. For now, I have to settle for mere ingestion. 2. Going to the dog park with Norah and Scooter.
No, Scooter doesn't have rabies. He just has some kind of dog-park-induced-drooling-syndrome. As far as we know, there's no cure.
3. Norah took a nice, long mid-afternoon nap.

4. Which enabled me to do some beloved reading.
5. This afternoon, Norah and I made a quick trip to the mall and I bought myself a few new essentials: PJs and underwear. I'm sorely in need of new clothes in general, but I really did need new undies. The last new pair of underpants I'd bought were maternity.

No picture of those. Sorry, I don't want this to be that kind of blog.

6. Watched the Colts beat the Jets. It was a surprisingly close game in the first half, but in the end, the Colts deservedly won. I mean, how did the Jets get this far in the first place?

7. Norah went to bed at 6 pm. It makes me very happy to have a baby who goes to bed so early and so easily!

8. Took a shower and got into a pair of my new PJs! ($10 says Jerry refers to these PJ pants as "clown pants.")
9. Sat down to watch the Vikings/Saints game -- currently crossing my fingers for the Vikes, but I'm scared for them. To comfort my fears, I have Ice Cream Snickers: Perfect food for either celebrating a win or mourning a loss.
10. Knowing that tonight is the last night Jerry is away. He comes home tomorrow afternoon. Wa-hoo!

  1. Sounds like a great day to me, and I agree 100% with Snickers being a perfect comfort food for a win or loss. I think Scooter is hysterical in that picture!

I would wear pajama pants like that all day if I could.

Murphy foams at the mouth at the dog park too. Of course he does this while frantically chasing other dogs like he is rabid. I just pretend that other people don't notice it!

  6. Great list!

This game is making me nervous. AP can't keep the ball in his hands and they are trying to kill Farve.

And... love the pajamas! They look like something from the Gap or Old Navy!

The game is in overtime right now. Very nerve-grating... yes, I'm rooting for the Vikings.

  9. I love that you have 10 things in your day that make you happy. I get so tired of everyone complaining all the time...in life not bloggy land but having you list this out makes me thing..."if bloggy land people are happy, why can't everyone else be too?"

I would love an ice cream snickers right now!

  11. Too cute! Love the clown pants, er, I mean... pj's!

When we take Nikki to the dog park, she doesn't drool but she shakes uncontrollably. She's so excited she can't contain it. She looks like she's having a seizure while walking but she's fine.

Love this post! With PJS, the brighter the better, IMO! You can get away with so much more creative patterns on PJs then regular pants.

  15. Your PJ pants look like you're about to jet off to Hawaii. Not Clowny at all. Go Colts!

Jerry is right. Pleae don't turn Norah into a clown.

  17. Wow... having to watch the Vikes lose in clown pants? That's unforgettable :-D

  18. I've been wanting to read Elizabeth Gilbert's newest since I LOVED Eat, Pray, Love. Most reviews say it doesn't live up to the expectations (how could it, really?). Are you enjoying it?

  19. I love your new PJ's! Even if Jerry does call them clown pants. ;)

  27. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the Scooter picture, but I'm a sucker for dogs and all their disgusting habits. For the record, mine don't even need a dog park to induce the drooling, they just do it for the fun of it!

  28. Hope that snickers coated the sting of defeat. Purple pride was bruised last night.

Jess - I love your blog, and am so impressed with your running while pregnant, while nursing, while probably exhausted most of the time!
I am due in June and only started jogging again right before I learned I was pregnant, so I quit. But I do have these lofty goals that I'll get back into it once the baby is here. So the question - do you have suggestions on walking/jogging/running strollers.... since the ideal part of me hopes to be able to use those nice summer days to get out and exercise! I'm probably dreaming!

    thanks!
