Yesterday for NRD, I did get out there for a 3 miler. The run itself was fine, nothing special (in fact, it rained on me at the end), probably would have been slightly better if I had remembered Body Glide. Even for short runs, the summer's heat and humidity demand I remember BG, especially now that boobs and belly are rubbing against each other in a chafe-danger zone.
Also, an interesting aside: I've noticed when I return from runs that I have a little sweat circle on my shirt where my belly button is. My belly button hasn't "popped" out yet (god, I dread that), but the skin around it is taunt, and when I run, it's pressed up against my shirt. And apparently, it sweats. Lovely, right?
The belly button thing is too funny. I'd be afraid of it popping and not going back in. Can that happen?
ReplyDeletehaha I had the "turkey baster" belly button pop out both times (this last time it "popped" out at like 22 weeks!), and both times it went back in, have no fear!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the visual! LOL...
ReplyDeleteLOL. Glad to hear you got out there and were able to enjoy a run on NRD!
ReplyDeleteOh fun - something else exciting to look forward to when I am preggars:)
ReplyDeleteGreat job on running 3 miles!!!
The belly button thing gives me the heebie-jeebies. Just think of all the lint you'll get to clean out. Cheers.
ReplyDeleteNRD what a great excuse for a run. Way to keep at it
ReplyDeleteEwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww
ReplyDeleteCall me weird, but I thought the belly button popping out thing was kind of neat...
ReplyDeleteThat is funny about the sweat circle.
(Re: your comment on my blog about my underpronation...I thought the same thing! AND I have stability shoes for overpronation, which I was told by the shoe store is what I do...I've looked at a bunch of other pictures of me running now and it's the only one I've seen where my foot is doing that...so maybe it's an occasional thing?)
Haha too funny about the sweat circle! Nice job on your 3 miler. And I can imagine that would be some uncomfortable chafage action!
ReplyDeleteMmm, belly button sweat!
ReplyDeleteI can barely remember Body Glide for my long runs. I'd be in trouble living in FL.
Ah yes, the sights and chafe of pregnancy. Gotta love it.
ReplyDeleteat least you could say you got a run in. we've gotten nothing but rain
ReplyDeleteNothing hotter than pregnant belly button sweat...
ReplyDeletebody glide was a a godsend for prego chafe. My belly button never popped. Nice job on the 3 miler!
ReplyDeleteGood job on getting the 3 miler on NRD. Like Lily on the Road, thanks for the visual.
ReplyDeleteWhat...no picture of the belly button sweat line? Geez Jess...
ReplyDeleteLovely imagery. Thanks. ;o)
ReplyDeleteMine didn't pop for either pregnancy, so you may get lucky...
haha i've definitely never experienced belly button sweat, but i do sweat profusely in between my arms so that my elbows drip sometimes. is that TMI? haha
ReplyDeleteI don't celebrate National Running Day, but tomorrow is National Donut Day - I think I can get behind that one. :)
ReplyDeleteWait, what? Your belly button is supposed to pop out? Like a turkey timer? Man, you prego people go through some crazy shit.
