Last night, it started raining around 5 pm, and it kept on raining just about all night, which was a good thing since we need the moisture badly, and this morning when I got up it was still cool and overcast. Perfect. I had a leisurely breakfast (English muffin with PB&J and my one cup of coffee), and then I put on my running stuff and hit the road.
Even though it was cloudy and cooler out, it was still humid, but it didn't bother me too much. I did my standard 3 mile loop and it was one of the best runs I've had in awhile (after the crappy run I had last week, I knew I was due for a good run one of these days).
If only weather conditions could allow me to repeat a similar pattern throughout the summer -- I would love to get up at 8 and run at 9 on a regular basis; however, I know that this cool, cloudy weather won't last, and on most South Florida summer days, to run at 9 am is madness. But, I'm glad I got to take advantage of it this morning!
I so love running in the rain! Not everyone's cup of tea (or coffee) though.
ReplyDeleteGlad you got in a good rain in some cooler weather! Enjoy it while it lasts.
ReplyDeleteI don't mind running in the rain, it just takes me a bit to get out there. I am glad you enjoyed a cooler day.
ReplyDeleteGlad you had a great run. I love running in the rain, and, this past weekend I was in the Keys for the Keys 100...hot as heck, but when it rained a bit it was a nice cooling off.
ReplyDeleteIt was over 80 yesterday, and I just about DIED. I'm so not ready for the summer heat. No idea how to handle it all year.
ReplyDeleteGraham went out running around 9 this morning also. He loves this weather...but I hate it when he thinks he's all kind of macho and runs at 3pm during the summer. Not cool at all
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear you had such a good morning run! You're right. You won't have temps like that forever!
ReplyDeleteI love that cool, damp feeling in the morning after a good rain. Glad you were able to take advantage and had a decent run!
ReplyDeleteYeah...I hear ya on the beautiful life that would include running at 9am...but it wouldn't happen in the summer on this coast either!
ReplyDeleteGlad you got a nice run in!
I can't imagine your humidity! You're a rockstar!
ReplyDeleteYou're just going to have to start getting up at 6am. Wha? You're gonna have to before too long anyway :P ;-)
ReplyDeleteTake advantage when you can is the name of the game. We are going through a cool period too here in VA, it's currently 47 degrees out. I might run this morning too.
ReplyDeleteGlad you had a nice run! The days of waking up before 6am to go for a run is approaching.
ReplyDeletenice job on the run...i love running the morning after a rain...
ReplyDeleteLOL @ marcy... yea, start practicing now :-)
ReplyDeleteI just discovered your blog and wanted to say, "hi." So...HI! I'm a new runner, mom to a 13 month old, and am hoping to get pregnant again sometime after this summer, and possibly run a half marathon while newly pregnant. Anyway, I was googling stuff about that, and I think that's when I found your blog. Funny thing is...your super slow pace right now is my good pace. Oh well...somewhere to start, right? Anyway... glad things are going well for you!
ReplyDeleteI love running in the rain especially in the summertime. It is finally hitting 80 degrees here for the first time this month. I wish the weather is cooler for a little bit longer. It was good that you got your run in this a.m.
ReplyDeleteGood for you! I tried really hard to get my butt up yesterday and this morning and just couldn't do it. I'm hoping to squeeze a run in tonight. Bet it felt good to get it out of the way!
