Yesterday: 3 miles
Today: Haven't yet done it, but I plan on another 3 miler.
Keepin' 'em short so that the legs retain some energy for Thursday.
Wednesday: Last day of work for the week and a day of running rest.
Thursday: Turkey Trot's 5K -- my desire, as you all know, is to attempt a PR and I'm getting kind of nervous about that. The pressure! My god, the pressure!
But then, afterwards, PR or no PR, there will be turkey. Oh yes, loads of turkey. And beer. Mmmm, beer.
I got all hyped up for a PR too, and it didn't happen (race for the cure a while back). I hope you have better luck. At least there is beer...
ReplyDeletePR's do bring so much pressure, don't they - especially for a 5K. I know you can do it. Regardless, just think you're earned your beers probably more than most people for doing a race before partaking in all the delicious food.
ReplyDelete3 mile runs are my favorite too! I can do them on my lunch hr and still make it back to work in a decent time.
Have fun. If you are going to beat a PR, what better way to do it than in your own backyard.
ReplyDeleteI found a sure-fire way to PR my Turkey Trot - sell my spot to someone faster! ha ha.
ReplyDeleteI'm creating my own Turkey Trot on Thursday!
ReplyDeleteGood luck Jess, I hope you PR. Just picture how much better it all will taste with a nice PR as the cherry on top. Happy Thanksgiving.
ReplyDeleteMmmmm, turkey and beer!
ReplyDeleteoooh, beer on Thanksgiving. I'm so jealous! We don't have beer, or wine, or anything worth drinking. Enjoy some for me!
ReplyDeleteTurkey and beer!! What more could you ask for?
ReplyDelete(In reference to your comment) LMAO! It's supposed to be my "caffeine buzz" Althouhg now that I look back at it . . .it could also be confused with having some vodka in there :P
Mmm, sounds like the perfect Turkey Day! Have fun and good luck on the trot!
ReplyDeleteGood luck!! PR or not, I hope you have a great day!
ReplyDeleteEat some turkey for me, they don't have any in this friggin' country so it's been 2 years since I've had a proper Thanksgiving!
Good luck on your PR, but must importantly enjoy the turkey and beer!!!
ReplyDeleteGood luck on the Turkey Trot. We'll see you for the post-race recap and... don't forget... pie!
ReplyDeleteMy only luck with PRs is to try not to get them--a little reverse psychology. Otherwise, you try too hard and end up maxing yourself out.
ReplyDeleteWay to be so consistent lately...it's really amazing and inspiring.
ReplyDeleteI think a 5k is so challenging because it is so short. You don't have time to make up for any errors or slow moments.
ReplyDeletemmmmm TURKEY mmmmmmmmm
ReplyDeleteoh, and you have a race that day too?
mmmmm, turkey....
I feel a PR comin' on!!!
ReplyDeleteGood luck at the race on Thursday and have a great holiday....
ReplyDeleteI fight those pre race nerves as well!
