Cruisetastic Pics
We had a great time on our cruise and arrived safely back in port in Miami this morning. After lunch and a long nap, I feel revived and ready to post! (Of course, it would be nice to have tomorrow off of work because I have a mountain of laundry to do and we don't have any food in the house, but no dice on that one.) Anyway, without further ado: Here's a quick trip recap:
Here I am getting ready for the standard lifeboat drill while we were in port in Miami. I make life vests look good, don't I?
Here's Jer-Bear and I and some of our gang on deck of the boat while we departed Miami.
Here's Jerry and I on the beach in Key West. This is where our friends got married. It was a beautiful setting and they had a really beautiful ceremony.
Here's a shot with nearly our entire group of friends. A few are missing (like the bride and groom) out of the shot, but this is most everyone.
After the wedding, we all made a pit stop at Hog's Breath Saloon in Key West, and this is some of the gang enjoying some post-nuptial refreshment. I got to drink a bottle of water.
Here's Jerry and I in the port in Cozumel.
And this is me drinking my Virgin Daquiri on the beach in Cozumel. It sucked that I couldn't drink on the trip, especially because we were vacationing with all of our friends, but I still got me a fruity drink in a pineapple to suck on beach-side, and if I pretended real hard, I could imagine some booze in there.
We had a great time at the beach in Cozumel: We sipped our drinks under cabanas and went snorkeling and saw some colorful fishes. Then, as the sun set, we went out for dinner, drinks, and then a wild goose chase for some authentic Cuban cigars in downtown Cozumel. That last part is a funny story, but I think it's one of those "guess you had to be there" stories because I can already tell that re-telling it would seem lame here, but to those of us who were there, it was frickin hilarious. And I was sober. Otherwise, I would claim that the tequila was to blame for the perceived humor.
Here's Jer-Bear (far right) with the guys for some last-chance shots of tequila and Dos Equis before re-boarding the boat in Cozumel.
Jer-Bear and I in one of the ship's lounges before dinner on our last night on board. See those cans of Foster's? They're 25 oz a piece. Jerry had 4 of those before dinner. See that bottle of water? That was my pre-dinner drink. Dangit!
Anyway, it truly was a lot of fun. And I highly suggest that if you cruise, try cruising with a group of friends. Jerry and I have been on two previous cruises, by ourselves, and while they were a lot of fun, the fun this time around was magnified by 100% just because it was so fun to hang out with friends both in port and on the ship. But next time we all go on a trip such as this, I'll try not to be pregnant at the time. Because I would have enjoyed one of those cans of Foster's!
