Sinner

Bless me o' bloggers, for I confess that yesterday I did not run. It's been 6 weeks since I last missed a Tuesday recovery run.

My excuse? I just felt tired. I got home from work, put on my sweats, lay down on the couch, and that's pretty much where I remained for the evening. Eh, I don't feel too guilty about it. I figure that some days, my body is just telling me to rest, and I did get plenty of rest last night. So, hopefully, tonight when I get home I'll be ready to get back out there, and even if I'm not ready, I will find the motivation: One skipped run is enough for a week, and I don't want to have to confess again later for another digression.

  1. It seems to me that you run a lot. Rest is important. I say "No worries!" Besides, you just did back to back HMs. You deserve some extra down time. :-)

  2. If there will be another digression make it for something else....I'm glad you listened to your body...sometimes the messages it is sending are worth listening to....

There was probably some car that veered into the area that you were running so by not runnig you saved yourself from that trauma...see all is good!!!!

Everyone needs a break sometimes. Besides, you definitely earned it with your awesome bowling!

  5. Glad you don't feel the guilt, because you should'nt you have done 2 1/2 marys back to back. OK but for punishments sake, 2 hail mary's and ummm 3 Greys episodes should be torture enough.

Jump the Shark; a colloquialism used by TV critics and fans to denote that point in a TV show or movie series' history where the plot veers off into absurd story lines or out-of-the-ordinary characterizations, particularly for a show with falling ratings apparently becoming more desperate to draw viewers in.

That is what has happened to Grey's send those things back to Netflix and save yourself now while you can.

When you need the rest, you just need it!

Oh dang - you are going to runner's hell where all they have is a squeeky treadmill with Rihanna's "Umbrella" on a continuous loop

  10. sadly jess, grey's has become totally unbelieveable. The story line has gone to crap. And no, they never get less whiny.

But with that said, I am still addicted to it!

  15. I like to think of rest days as investments. It'll pay off down the road for sure.

You deserve the rest. If it makes you feel any better I've skipped two workouts and fell asleep at 8:30 last night.

  17. You have to listen to your body, but not all of the time because mine often says "let's take a nap."

  19. Your body will pay you back for listening to it with great runs in the future. Nice bowling, by the way. The first (and only :)) time I broke 200, I was so excited you'd think I had just won a million dollars.

  20. Once you sin once, you get a free pass for all other sins. Hope you took advantage.
Example: Skip a run? Eat cupcakes. Tell off a stranger. Screen a call from an annoying friend/family member. Steal candy from a baby. It doesnt matter, its just a "sin day". You resume your normal life the next day and just repent for the whole day.

  21. Ok, you ran two half marathons and trained in between. You deserve a day off. Now if that mushrooms into several days, you are definitely a sinner. (LOL, sinner for missing running, yeah right! It's the other shit you do that you are labeled a sinner for. You are in denial if you think missing a run is bad.) Can you tell I have a shitty attitude today? I think my last two comments on blogs were very sarcastic. I need Turkey day to get here ASAP!
