With the exception of one 3 miler last week, I took the entire week off of running in order to rest the strained quads. So, this evening, I set out on another 3 miler to see if the time off was helpful. Apparently, it was.
I did a slow, easy 3 miles (29:32) and I felt no pain, and better yet, aboslutely no discomfort. I think resting was the right thing to do, and now I can do a couple more runs this week and get ready for Disney's 15K on Sunday. What a relief.
P.S. I got my chipped chomper fixed today, and it looks better than ever! The dentist is really good and she even smoothed out my other front tooth that is also bondo-ized so that it's as smooth as the one she fixed. Watch out world -- my fangs are back in fighting form!
I'm glad the quads are feeling better. Rest is usually the right way to go with injuries...I used to fall into the trap of trying to push through injuries, only to suffer.
ReplyDeleteNice job on taking the time off to heal the leg! Glad to hear the tooth was taken care of!
ReplyDeleteI just want you to know that both Ryan and I know how to massage you before and after your runs. Baby class was all about the massage techniques tonight. Ryan would probably hurt you because he is rough and I probably don't have enough strength for you to even feel me but darn it, we know the techniques.
ReplyDeleteNice job!
ReplyDeleteIf only I had been that smart a year ago. Noooo I have to do everything the hard way. LOL Glad you are all fixed up!
ReplyDeleteWhen will you get your bionics installed? :) Then we really will have to watch out!
ReplyDeleteOh, yay, you're in good shape for Minnie!
ReplyDeleteMy dentist smoothed out my two front teeth about ten years ago... makes such a difference!
Oh cool, glad the rest did the trick.
ReplyDeleteFantastic!
ReplyDeleteIts amazing what the human body can do all by itself.
Glad you are back in top form.
I think we missed each other by only 20 minutes or so. I was outta there just before 12 so I could speed race my butt to work. Glad to here you've been prettified again!
ReplyDeleteIts great to hear that a few days rest paid off. You should be all ready for your race on Sunday
ReplyDeleteAlright!!! Good news all around :-) Now go out and have a Gobstopper :P
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear the quads are feeling painfree. Way to listen to your body and take it easy. Now you can feel confident and worry free about the 15k.
ReplyDeleteGlad you are feeling better.
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear you are on the mend. Good luck getting back in the swing of things.
