One reason is that I had the opposite problem when running, my ring would randomly fly off - after it happend twice and I luckily found it, I decided enough was enough. They're all plumpy and hard as hell to get off. I think you can get one of those plastic tightener thingys or ring guards I think they're called at one of those cheesy mall booths. I don't know how well they work (and if they look tacky) but what? They're maybe $10 at the most? It will cost you maybe $50 to get it resized and then if you hate it?
